What did you think of it? Do you agree with the masses in saying it is the best book ever? Discuss it here. DO NOT READ IF YOU HAVEN'T READ 'PHANTOM'I thought it was extremely good. There was a great history of Erik and how he got where he was at the beginning of Leroux's book. It provided insight into not only Erik's life but the people who knew him. I liked how Kay kept the history in the book, especially with Charles Garnier buidling the Opera House. My only criticism of this book is that the ending wasn't the same as the original novel. I, on the other hand, loved the ending. I'm a big fan of irony.
This book actually made me cry, and I don't think I will ever say those words about anothe book. This one was spectacular, and I loved it. Especially Giovanni and The Persian' account of things.

Personally, I am not a big Erik/Christine shipper. Sure, Kay's book has great opportunities for phanfiction, but that's pretty much all I liked, that, and Nadir.

Do you like Nadir by force of by choice, m'dear?
Anyways, this is one of my favorite books. I loved Erik's characterization and the characters of Nadir, Giovanni, and Madeline. And the Khanum was so freakin' scary, it was awesome. I just love the book. I love how it was narrated and I loved the different people you meet throughout Erik's journey.
