Phantom of Manhattan

Anybody read this? I read the prolouge, but I didn't have time to finish, but I got the bbok today from my local library.

Something that I heard about it though, The author doesn't like The Persian?! I didn't see how that was possible. He served a main part in the book, although he wasn't put into the newer movie, he's in the older ones.

From what I've read (I'm only on chapter three), the math doesn't really add up correctly, and Mme. Giry is dying, but I can't tell of what. I think its stomach cancer.

This book makes me mad. Forsyth hates everyone, it seems, except Erik and Christine. He worships the ground the latter walks on and the former is apparently socially adept. *shrugs* I don't know where it came from.

More importantly, though, is the fact ALW is going to make a musical from this book. I'm outraged, upset, and genuinely confused. The novel was poorly recieved by phans and critics alike. It's never going to work!
